It’s that time of the year again – Mardi Gras Time!

On March 1st join Portland’s costumed finest for a night of dancing and joie de vivre at the Portland Mardi Gras Ball!

What to expect? One thing Portlanders enjoy is dressing up in costume and heading out for a night of revelry. Bring out your best over the top finery and participate in the Costume Contest. Watch the crowning of the new Mardi Gras King and Queen. And dance the night away to live Cajun and Zydeco music. Of course expect plenty of beads and King Cake.

PDX Pop Now! (July 19 – 21st) is a free all ages showcase of local – well Cascadia local – bands. This year is the 10th anniversary of one of the most interesting music festivals you’ve probably never heard of. Don’t make that mistake this year – go see it! You have 3 days, it’s right in Portland, no tickets, no nuthin’. The bands play 20-30 minute sets so blink and you miss it.

Hollywood Theater has gone insane with the best freakin’ line up of shows – something every night! This weekend they are showing the Internet Cat Film Festival from the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Love cats, love Walker Art Center, love it! If you want to keep up with all their events, totally like them on the Facebook. Oh I forgot they’re having a Pancake Film Festival June 19th 2013. Pancakes. Film. Yes.
