Now raising funds for “Walk a Mile In Her Shoes”. September 25th, 2010, hundreds of folks convene in downtown Beaverton to support an end to gender violence. Men wear high heeled shoes in solidarity! A very fun event for a serious cause. Learn more and donate here:
I have this great idea of compiling a list of things I need to see/do/visit in wonderful Portland Oregon. Even though I’ve lived here 8 years I still feel like a tourist. So here’s round 1:
- Velveteria – here’s a good reason to not procrastinate. Velveteria is shutting it’s doors January 24 2010. Velveteria is a museaum of fine black velvet paintings. They even offered black velvet painting classes for a while.
- Stark’s Vacuum Cleaner Museum
- Portland City Grill Happy Hour – Way up at the tippy top of the 30 floor Big Pink building downtown. I guess you go for the view. Here’s their page: Portland City Grill
– Hrm maybe it’s just a rumour from a bygone era since there’s no mention on Stark’s Vacuum Cleaner site. I believe it’s at their main store on Grand Ave.
Great advice from Justin Kistner
Justin gave a brief blogging overview in our Social Media Marketing class at PSU a few weeks ago. Basically, he said not to plan what to write about, and you never know what will be popular. Just go ahead and write. Post away!
I think it’s good advice because I’m not much of a planning person. So having no pressure to perform or realize an out come motivates me. Although, like the brave souls trying to write a novel in a month, having a deadline or at least a post a week (Facebook doesn’t count) should help.
